Dr. Larry Chism
Dr. Chism’s career objective is to provide excellent comprehensive primary eye care in a private practice environment. He received his Bachelor of Science in 1975 from the University of Houston and his Doctor of Optometry from College of Optometry at the University of Houston with contact lenses and low vision his areas of concentration.
Dr. Chism has been in private practice since 1980. He is full owner and managing associate of Vision Source-Tyler. A professional private practice established in 1955, providing a full scope optometric eye care services.
Professional associations and activities include membership in American Optometric Association and Texas Optometric Association. He has also been a past president of East Texas Optometric Society, past board member of Tyler Lions Club and East Texas Society to Prevent Blindness, and past chairman of the Texas Optometric Association Public Relations Committee.
Dr. Chism and his wife reside in Tyler and have three sons.
Dr. Katie E. Marshall
Dr. Marshall will be providing full scope, primary eye care for patients of all ages, including children. Her services will include prescribing glasses and fitting contact lenses, treating dry eye and ocular allergy, and providing emergency care.
Dr. Marshall grew up in Tyler and has been a long-time patient of Dr. Chism’s since 1992, when he prescribed her first pair of glasses. She graduated from Grace Community High School in 2002, received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Mississippi in 2006, and obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis in 2011.
Professional associations and activities include American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, involvement in the East Texas Optometric Society, and member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Marshall is happy to be back in East Texas and able to serve the Tyler community.
