Dr. Rachael Hixson

Dr. Rachael Hixson is proud to serve the East Texas community as a dedicated optometrist. Her journey in eye care began after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida in 2012. She worked for three years as an optometric technician in her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, where she discovered her passion for helping people see clearly and comfortably.

She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of the Incarnate Word, Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas. During her final year of school, she moved to East Texas and began practicing in Tyler in 2019. She joined Vision Source of Tyler as an associate optometrist in February of 2025, and she is currently accepting new patients and continues to provide a wide scope of vision and medical eye care.

Outside the office, Dr. Hixson enjoys hiking and paddleboarding at Tyler State Park and living in Lindale with her fiancé and two pets.
